The Opening Itself
Width and height are taken at the finished masonry or framed opening, not the old door, and both are measured at multiple points because openings in older homes are rarely perfectly square. The door is sized to the opening so it seals against the stop molding on the outside face.

Headroom, Backroom and Side Room

Slab slope matters too. A driveway that pitches away sharply will need a threshold seal to close the resulting gap at the ends.
